It was one of Melbourne’s particularly freezing nights when I met Cam + Jess. The kind of night that can only be saved by beers and pizza, and a whole lot of laughs. Jess (aka Miss Giggles) invited her whole bridal entourage for our first meet-up – a party right from the start – and I knew, in that moment, this wedding would be a blast. I already felt like family!
The next time we met was the big day, where photographer Leo Farrell and I were greeted with hugs and high-5’s like we’d all been friends for a lifetime. And that warmth and hospitality didn’t end with the bridal party; every guest were beaming.
So was the sunshine, a perfect 10/10 in picturesque Sambar Park, Howqua – a 3-hour drive north of Melbourne. The ceremony took place on the riverbank before guests made their way back over the hill for a twilight reception. Meanwhile, Leo and I were 4x4ing over the bumpy surrounds chasing foliage for the photoshoot. Who doesn’t like a wedding served with a side of extreme sport?
This wedding reminded me, once again, that I have the best job in the world. The opportunity to take a drive along the countryside, spend the day with amazing peeps, make new friends, and document the love story between husband and wife is pure magic.
Cam + Jess, thankyou for being so accommodating, you were an absolute pleasure to capture.
